Indian Meal and Adventures of a Rupee
Saturday 8 February from 6:45pm
Dunblane's St Mary's Episcopal Church Hall
Dunblane's historic Leighton Library invites you to a fundraiser with a difference. We are showcasing one of the books in the Leighton Library, The Adventures of a Rupee, whilst having a delicious Indian meal. The evening will consist of excerpts from the book, good food and an auction! There are limited spaces to book quickly to avoid disappointment.
This fundraising event combines wonderful Indian food by Anjali's Nimto from Auchterarder and excerpts from one of the books from the Leighton Library. The Adventures of a Rupee was written in 1793 by a Scottish doctor, Helenus Scott, working for the East India Company in Bombay. The book follows the travels of the coin as it passes from beggars to princes and everything in between! Whether you are a foodie or a bookworm, there is something for everyone during this evening's entertainment.
During the evening there will also be an auction to fundraise for the development of the Leighton Library Undercroft. A selection of items on offer includes a 3 night stay for 4 people at the Cameron Club on Loch Lomond on a self-catering basis.
Leighton Library events so far have booked out really quickly, so we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment. Price of £39.71 per head includes ticketing costs.
