On Saturday 23 September at 2.00pm Dunblane Public Library (located at 122 High Street, Dunblane, FK15 0ER) will host a free exhibition and a talk by Dan Gunn, Leighton Library Trustee, about the ongoing restoration of Dunblane's historic Leighton Library, just around the corner from Dunblane Public Library. The talk is expected to last around 45 minutes. There will also be a display of photographs taken by Tom Astbury of the restoration stages and some stones on show, the photographic displays will remain in the Library for a while after the event. Dunblane Library itself is a Category C Listed Building and has served the public since 1907.

The Category-A Listed Leighton Library in historic Dunblane is Scotland’s oldest purpose-built private library and is over 300 years old. After many years of preparation and fund-raising, the library is presently closed as it is undergoing extensive renovation and repair works. Many interesting discoveries have been made about the unusual construction of the building.
