The Leighton Library has a 1678-1679 v.1, 1679 edition of "Titi Livii Historiarum quod extat" edited and annotated by German classical scholar, librarian and critic Johann Friedrich Gronovius, born #OnThisDay 8 September 1611. This was about the history of Rome by Titus Livius.

His annotations, alongside those of Carlo Sigonio, provided deep historical, linguistic, and literary context, helping shape how Livy was read and taught for centuries.

The Latin text is accompanied by extensive marginalia and footnotes, making it a rich resource for students of Roman history, Latin language, and classical rhetoric.
