The Leighton Library has a 1748 edition of the unfinished refutation of Lucretius, by French diplomat, Cardinal and neo-Latin poet Melchior Cardinal de Polignac who was born #OnThisDay 11 October 1661. The book was published after his death. He was several times President of the Académie royale des sciences
