The Leighton Library has a 1557 edition of the collection of satirical poems "Varia doctorũ piorumque virorum" to which the introduction was added by Croatian theologian Matthias Flacius who was born #OnThisDay 3 March 1520. He was regarded by some as a renegade "we have nourished a snake in our bosom"
