Bugs and Books don't mix! #OnThisDay 27 May 1564 John Calvin, influential French theologian during the Protestant Reformation, and after whom Calvanism was named, died. The Leighton Library has several of his books including a badly wormed 1569 edition of his "Sermons de M. Iean Caluin sur le liure de Iob." published in Geneva. You can see the effects of bookworm on this book. It was treated by taking to specialist deep freezers and being kept at a temperature of -30C for five days to kill off any bookworm!
