The Leighton Library has a first Latin translation of 1548 of “D. Ioannis Thauleri praeclarissimi viri Tam de tempore quam de sanctis conciones plane pijssimae, caeteraque opera omĩa” - the sermons of German mystic & Catholic priest Johannes Tauler who died #OnThisDay 16 June 1361. Tauler was famous for his sermons, which were considered among the noblest in the German language, described as intensely practical, and touching on all sides the deeper problems of the moral and spiritual life
